Editorial Message

His Highness President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has declared 2019 the year of Tolerance, highlighting the UAE as a
global capital for acceptance through its legislative and policy goals. The policy of tolerance and acceptance of others irrespective
of their ethnic, religious or cultural backgrounds carries on the late Sheikh Zayed’s teachings and legacy. It is significant that the
UAE witnessed on its soil the signing of a document on “Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together”. The signing
took place this month (February 4, 2019) by Ahmed El-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Pope Francis of the Vatican. In this
February issue of Al Tijara we have plenty of articles and reports on the UAE economic achievements and Emirate of Sharjah
accelerating business activities. Last month, in the presence member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah H.H. Sheikh Dr.
Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Sharjah National Oil Corporation signed an agreement with the Italian Company ENI for oil
and gas exploration in three regions.

Also we read about The Sharjah Chamber's hosting last month of the second UAE-Saudi Arabia Economic Forum as well as the
Chamber's business meetings with delegations and envoys from The USA, Morocco, Kosovo and Finland. Meanwhile a Sharjah
Chamber's team participated last month in the Partnership Summit 2019 held in the Indian business capital Mumbai.

The above Chamber activities reflect its effective role in helping establishing Sharjah as a regional business destination. Therefore,
the recent statistics that have shown more than 5000 companies joined the Chamber as new members in 2018 is only a
confirmation of the attractiveness of Sharjah for business and industrial firms.

The boom of business in Sharjah is also reflected by the flourishing real estate sector. In this issue the cover story is about the
launch of Al Jada, an AED 24 billion project, spanning 2.2 Kilometers area. Al Jada's design mimics the architecture of Sharjah's past
           blended by modernity.

Read the above and many other interesting stories in this February issue of Al Tijara.
